Why Hanging Baskets
Our hanging baskets allow plants to enhance any space, especially urban areas: adding natural beauty even when garden space is limited, at a premium or non-existent! They add another dimension without using up valuable surface area.
Ready to Hang Baskets
All our hanging baskets are designed and planted by us, on site, using new techniques which require less watering
and fertilizing than earlier versions and come in a variety of sizes and styles.
We offer a wide array of ‘ready to hang’ baskets, as well as providing bespoke designs for any occasion or purpose. We strive to offer a diverse range to suit any taste, space, or budget: from traditional to contemporary designs, with a rainbow of colours and combinations available. However, our tastes may not be yours so we also offer a ‘Build a Basket’ station where you can make your own or have us build one for you. This is a free service which means your basket is the same price as our ready-made ones.
Bespoke or Commercial Sized Baskets
For large or bespoke orders, we ask that you order well in advance, where we can offer specific arrangements, 'themes', plants, colours and combinations as requested.
The sooner you order, the better established your basket will be when you come to pick it up after the last frost day. We accept orders from Sept (for the following year) through to April by appointment.
Design or ‘Build a Basket’ Service
We create a limited amount of ready to hang baskets and offer a design station in the shop where we can build your basket, often while you wait, for the SAME price as a ready to hang one. Don’t see ‘exactly’ what you are looking for or you have a specific design/location in mind? We can build your basket as you wish or you can have some fun and do it yourself at our station, using our tried and successful ingredients and methods.
Basket Refill Service
To support and encourage our customers to be as sustainable as possible, we offer a discount on next years' 'refills' on all our hanging baskets!
Simply return empty baskets when you are ready to store them for the winter to receive a discount toward your next basket. It is your choice to pre-order or pick a ready made one next season.
(We also accept all plastic bedding plant pots, large or small, square or round, whether you bought them from us or not. We re-use as much as possible and recycle anything that can’t be reused.)
Hanging Basket Workshops
Meadow Brae is excited to host hanging basket and planter workshops mid-April; before we open to the public!
These workshops are fun and perfect to get ready for spring, just before the garden season starts. With our guidance, you can create your own design and chose from our full selection of plants. Furthermore, we can store and care for your basket (and purchases) until the frost danger has passed, when you can come and collect it! As an additional bonus, anything else you purchase on the day is 10% off regular price. The workshop itself is free, you just pay for what you use. Space is limited to 10 participants per workshop. Contact us below, by email or phone anytime to sign up for one or for a reminder in March/April.
Hanging Basket Rentals
We create beautiful floral arrangements which are available to rent during the rest of the year. We offer extra-large to regular sized hanging baskets, planters, barrel toppers and wheelbarrows filled with colourful flowering plants for rental offsite as well as for events booked with us. Hanging Basket Workshops
At Meadow Brae
We love hosting basket making workshops! Everyone has such a great time designing their baskets with the incredible selection of plants available prior to opening our doors to the public. Workshops last about two hours and participants have the additional opportunity to purchase anything from the shop for a 10% discount on the day.
